just updated to v 5.48

ok so i just up dated my os. this is very frusterating. why is it that i can chop up a sample just fine and play it back just fine. but when it comes to the drums the mpc has a mind of its own. i put in a unique drum pattern. and the sequencer plays back something totally different. please help i just bought this thing and i got alot of stuff i need to be doin and its holding me back.

i recommend reading the manual (u can read the akai manual as the basics are the same). and try to describe the problem more accurate as i dont know what you mean by sounding different (different samples, timing, levels?)

when you say just got the 2500 if your talking weeks or days i would say the problem i had that was similar to what you describe was when i 1st started using the 25 the machine was set to 1/8 rather than the normal 1/16 that i normally start at because i use the note repeat at 1/8. at the time i didnt know it changed the timing for the whole sequence also make sure that in the t.c. mode that you have enough or that you dont have too much swing applied. This info is of course if you are a brand new user or else you wouldve likely known about these settings i rambled on about goodluck

yea just change ur timing 1/16 or just turn it off if u want for complete interaction but u can always fix your mistakes in grid edit. to change ur timing go to the t/sig button.

yeah thanks to everyone i changed it to 1/16. it works great now. it scared me for a little bit.but thanks you help is much appreciated.

i have another problem. for some reason i cant play two pads at the same time. one always cancles the other out. it does the same in a sequence. i can have my hi hats going on every beat and if i put the snare or bass on the same beat it wont play or its muffled. what am i doing wrong?

Go to Program mode and press the function button that takes you to the 'paramaters' page.

Make sure your program mode is not Mono but Poly. In mono each pad strike cancels any other... in Poly you can play several simultaneously.
