Sure did. In mine some of the glue had come off from the old ones (there was a little 'air' between the sensors and the metal plate. I don't have to ram the pads as hard as I used to and I only get 'flams' when I play really, really fast.

That's nice to know, Bazziman - although I wonder why my brand new MPC4000 also does double-triggering. I had no problem with that on a new MPC2500. I also recognized that it doubletriggers on specific pads.

Well, why not take a look? Open up the MPC and look at the pads. Maybe there's some dirt or maybe the sensors came a little loose (like mine).

On my MPC the pads in middle / left were worst.

It's a design flaw on the 4k, as far as I can tell. I've owned a 60, 1000, 2500 & the 4000. The 4k is the only one that double triggers if I don't hit it just right. If i play anything but 1/8th notes I can't hit the pads without double triggering. I can drum out 1/16s but I have to keep my fingers on the pad when i hit the note to prevent doubles. Some say you just have to learn to play it like any other instrument. No clue.

maaaaaaan its just how you play it!!! its something you have to learn like any other instrument and im dissapointed that the newer models like the 2500 dont have it!!!! im hoping the 5000 will...

I don't think double triggering pads is a feature most would seek out.

learn how to use it to your advantage!
I can do it when I want it and make sure it doesnt happen when I dont want it on the 4k 2k, 2kxl..
they are all the same and use the same pads and sensors. check vst service.com

Its there on all of them except the mpd16, mpd24 and the 2500 (which use different pads/sensors)

it's the one thing that makes the mpc pads miles better than any other drum controller on the market!!! i can do the tightest drums rolls or hi hat rolls and only need two fingers rather than 4, it gives you the expression a real drummer has by doing a flam.

the best way I can describe how to learn it..

i use a flat finger and leave my finger on the pad once triggered for a flam.
i hit with the tip of my finger and its more of a tap and as soon as the sound is triggered i lift off to get a straight sound...

In the beginning I had the double triggering problem too. But thats gone now..

Yeah, I can avoid double triggers 95% of the time.

Go into the drum program/goto PITCH/goto a column called POLY it is set to 64 for each drum hit/set it to 1 for each drum sample/No more double hits...

what did you do to replace the sensors? Mines double trigger and its annoying. I know a method around it, but if theres something to fix it, that would be great.

Pugsly is the **** man. All the other posters are douchebaggs. I was gonna return my 4000 thinking i couldnt change notes to from poly to mono. I read the other posts and tried hitting it different ways but your method is clearly the right way.

setting note polyphonie has NOTHING to do with double triggering...
its only the way how the mp plays the notes....

the mp should work w/o doubletriggering even with polysetting to 64

yo if there's a pad calibration screen, you need to change the NOTE ON voltage threshold to a higher number.
