wheres the graff "king" at to enlighten us about this graff stuff!!?!?!

hahaha, sure. all i gotta say is graff is different things to different people.

the only thing that really pisses me off is doods that did no dirt, cant tag, have no letter foundation, making money of graffiti influenced characters and shit. if you have all of the above, make that money, like Doze, Twist, Seen, Cope - if Crazy Legs can run a hip hop dance studio - real graff writers can sure has hell put theyre art on canvas and sell it

case in point - this is a poser...

that looks like COPE's work ^^^^^ 8)

Most OG writers stopped Bombin a while ago. YES still bomb here and there. But is it still 4 hour rushes, destroying as much as possible in one night? Going all city in One day?... Nah, meng. Most cats have families, wives, kids, Bills...

I agree Tags are important, Essential even... But i hate it when (mostly younger cats) assume that because they got a throw up, and a corny hand style that they some how contribute to Graff. ummm NOPE. Only thing those cats are doin is takin up space. When told they suck.. they get mad, and start Buffin cats, that already paid dues... Sad really.

I guess the Point of my rant is, Graff is like anything else thats dope. It has its true school. And the duds that follow suite. If your interested in Graff, and want to avoid being a TOY. do as follows...

1. On your free time, start drawing...
2. check out other sh**, see if cats around you are part of this..
3. On your free time, CONTINUE to draw...
4. Keep Drawing...Draw till it HURTS...LITERALLY..

in time you should develop your OWN style, and with even more time your oWN style will evolve...

OH! and,

BROOKLYN!!!!

i was thinking more along the lines of a twist/doze green jocker but yeah...theres way to many emo nerds popping off at art shows with this kind of garbage.

but they are contributing, they are keeping it going...those young toys could be future copes, revoks, etc.

most wont - but sometimes graff aint about having style or even bombing, thats when the ego shit blurs the lines - graff is just as much about cope2 doing a piece, as it is some high school kid getting a 22oz, hopping the train, bart, or bus to smoke a joint with some broad from across town, catching tags on the way...the older i get the more i see it this way...my greatest graff memories is from when i was a toy, not when i was already known and was trying to maintain my fame.

Granted, Most of MY OWN best memories are when i wasn't at my peak.
BUT...to me a TOY isn't a young buck who's just getting into Graff, and is trying to find HIS/HER way. That is simply a young buck, getting into graff.

A TOY, is a kid, adult, inbetween... who BLURS the image of novice, and a punk who has no grasp of the culture but who goes around BUFFING, Disrespecting, and talkin sh** about how they write up...

I admire the cats still doing it. (i havent done anything in a long time).
When i see kids with blackbooks im like sh** let me see what you got.
Because im all for that. But I always advise that they learn to respect the ones before them, so that they can one day also be respected. And most importantly...

Be original. Legends never Die. Biters Never live.

I agree, leige (since im assuming your still somewhat aware of whats going on these days) Take someone like Abter, my man kills shit bqe, f line, d line spots in the city. Is his style great? No but he puts in mad work and for the most part respects shit (with the exception of when he dissed noxer at 4th ave and got his nose broken )

ive BUFFED ugly toy azz succaz that have JOCKED MY SPOT, and brought too much attention to MY spot, making MY spot a prime candidate for the BUFF...  broad daylight with the paint roller and orange vest buffing those NONRESPECTING TOYS...  gotta watch that schit though, people be BUSTIN on the BUFFING CREWS round here...

i guess THAT makes me a toy too...

im not claiming to be the uppest muhfucca, i could never come close to some of the ALLCITY KINGS i look up to in graff, BUT... its funny how you have a LIL HISTORY/FAME behind your name, and EVERYONE wants to get up next to you, basicly BURNING YOUR SPOT... thats ONE of my biggest gripes about graffiti and its OVERPOPULATION of toys... thats why when possible, TAKE UP THE WHOLE FUKN SURFACE OF THE SPOT SO NOONE CAN JOCK YOUR SCHIT!!!!
