ayoo, so I went to scoop up the turntable I bought to replace my Stanton, got a baller ass Technics 1210m5g off GC online used for 250, came with a stanton dm2? cartridge and needle...so that's dope, still need a mixer of some sort, but a player is broke
then I went diggin at a few spots, just drop ins really, not wanting to buy or expecting to, but came up on some shit (I think)
first stop was this pawn shop, copped the following
Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s- Damn Right I'm Somebody
L.T.D. - Something to Love
The O'Jays - Message in the Music
Barry White - Can't Get Enough
B.T. Express- Function at the Junction
The Temptations - Cloud Nine
T-Connection - Magic
J.K. Davis & The Humble Spritualettes - Banks of the River
Debbie Jacobs - Undercover Lover
Moms Mabley - The Men in my Life
Con Funk Shun - Secrets
Sugarhill Gang - Sugarhill Gang
The Best of Wilson Picket Vol. 2
Supersound- The Jimmy Castor Bunch featuring the everything man
Tower of Power - Live and in Living Color
Sugarhill Gang - Another self titled joint with an orange sleeve has Rappers Delight on hit and Passion play, sugar hill groove etc
Star Gard
Bootsy's Rubber Band - Stretchin' Out
those were $1.50 each, probably some turds but it was 28 and change total with tax
so then I roll to a thrift store that was straight wrecked, at this point I'm broke and just wasting time, not really expecting much but I found my first Cal Tjader joint...pretty stoked about it..for a dollar! I dunno if it's common or what but I was happy
Cal Tjader - Breeze from the East
Terry Riley - Shri Camel
New music for Jazz Ensemble (some bullshit I double stuffed)
Gap Band - Humpin' little 45
Ebonee Webb- Too Hot to be Cool 45
Kenneth Lane - You're on my mind
that total was $3.50 or so
all in all, pretty good day, scooped some BK stout on the way home and payed 1/3 of the cost of the records for a six pack, haha
