Extracting programed sounds from my zip disc to my computer

Sup guys,

I own these 2 zip discs programed with a bunch of dope drums and bass samples and I'm wondering if there is any way that I can get these sounds transfered to my computer, I have a zip drive so getting the whole process going is no problem, but every time I wanna enter my zip disc with the programed sounds it says it needs to format which I'm obviously not going to do

so is there any way I can get to these sounds and transfer them to my computer?

One of the ways I can think of is to get internal CF card reader for your mpc 2000 or 2000xl. Then connect zip drive to scsi port on the back of the mpc and just transfer everything song by song or just samples into the machine and then into the CF card. Sounds like a long process, but it isn't. The real costly problem is the reader itself, but still, it is a forward looking way of saving stuff.

thanks for the reply, I'm not so sure I want to go that route though considering that I'm going to sell my mpc very soon and I'm tight on cash, but I appreciate the tip.

couldn't i theoretically load all sounds to my mpc, and then save them one by one from the programed pads, on a empty zip disc? not so sure what format they will be saved in though, anyone know if this will work? so I don't get a bunch of files that I can't use later

All you need to do is make sure that your pc will recognize the newly formatted zip discs. You gonna need to search the forum archive for answers, how you need to format the new disc to have no problems when transferring to pc. All someone maybe will post answer here... I don't know that unfortunately.

what os are you running on your pc? you can save as .snd or .wav files.
