I REALLY need advice on where to start..MPC200XL and Reason

Hey Guys -

I just got the 2000xl along with Reason and an Axiom 61. I am a long time guitar player and want to start using lots of samples and sequences in a live setting.

The problem is I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE THE MPC or how to use it with Reason.

I really need some suggestions on where I can start, preferably if someone can recomend a good DVD that assumes I know nothing. I have already seen two DVDs on the 2000XL, one was just awfuel, looked like some guy with his moms camcorder, it made no sense. The other had good info but it started right off assuming you knew the basic operations.

Something that addressed the 2000XL along with Reason would be cool, but I do know some Reason so what I need most is info for the 2000XL.

PS - I already saw the adds all over this forum for the 2000XL beatmaking tutorial book. I really don't do so well reading stuff like that...looking for a DVD or somewhere to get soem one on one help!

Reading the basics from manual will get you started the best way. Don't need to get through the whole thing, although you should if you want to know things properly.

I think you might be overthinking This process....
Its exciting i know...i think you should get comfortable with both
Reason and MPC as seperate equipment....

Youtube has good sample tutorials....maybe you can link to one of the DVD sales sites ( that helps, so you know who the host is,camera angles, and what your paying for. ....)



Good luck man...... I hope you try to read some of the manual. i think that will help you ALOT... after that you should be able to find an advanced techniques DVD......

Note: the MPC is an instrument!
