export a song

i tried to export a song from the mpc to computer and it was a .all file...im just looking for the easiest way to switch it to an mp3 i dont have my manual right now and just looking for a quick explanation thanks

record it the same way you'd sample a sound onto your computer.

dont know how to do that...i sample right into my mpc from turntables...and export samples from cf cards

either record it into your soundcard by using the necessary cables or use the MPC to record its own output and save it onto your CF card then export it to your computer.

dude what he is saying is that you cant do it through the machine you have to record the output of the mpc. there is no easy way. you can go to where you sample and change the input from analog to main out. this will record whatever sequence you got ready to go. but i dont think that you can record the whole song. IM NOT SURE THO. but i know that you can buy some shit from m-audio. i had it a few years back. it was the M-audio Fast Tacks. it goes like this: mpc--->m-audio box----->usb. so you can record the audio outs to your computer.

i got the boss br900 would that work

also what if i got a compact flash to sd adapter...could i use that to save my songs to the sd threw the adapter then load it in my sd slot for my computer? and have it all work fine...?

It is indeed also possible to record your production this way... Just make a song out of your sequence's and play it in your record screen.. The only problem i have experienced with this method is memory problem.. Saving you're entire song on your MPC sucks up memory like hell... but it's worth a try

how much memory do you have? You can try the main out trick if you have enough memory or try to plug cables from the stereo out to the record in and do it that way. both ways are pretty much the same. do you or your mixer have an audio interface? If not does your computer have a mic input?

my computer has the basic 1/8 mic input

get a 2 quarter inch - a 1/8 inch cable and plug the 2 1/4 inch side from the outs of your mixer to the in of your computer. if you have a daw, record into DAW and convert to mp3. If you dont have a daw, there are some downloadable programs that let you record audio. just gotta find em. I believe windows has a sound recorder in the start menu somewhere. as for the almighty MAC, well garageband come pre-installed. Let me know how that goes.

I use the "sample the main out" method to get tracks on the pc

In the Record screen go to where it says ANALOG on the top left corner, switch that so it says MAIN OUT, Press the record button, then hit the playstart button to start your song, it should start recording.



Save the resulting sample of your beat to compactflash then get that in to your pc.

You can sample main out, but if you have midi information that you havent sampled, when you go to record there will be no sound. so record all your midi info by way of my other post to you, then sample the MAIN OUT. Drag drop your done.
