I spend days if not weeks to program drums (Fruity Loops and Impulse Tracker). DJ Premier got me that way when I first bought Grouphome back in 95. His drums are loopish BUT they are hard as hell. Since then I try to make my drums stand out even if the sample is wack as heck.
Yes I must agree NO I.D. and DUG Infinite are the best kept secrets for hiphop producers...
