MPC 2000 faulty sound

I recently bought an MPC 2000 from ebay but it is faulty. The seller says it worked fine so must have been damaged during transit.

The problem is that I hear loud electronic noise every half a second.
I went to the analog input menu and it shows this same sound seemingly entering the MPC but nothing is plugged into the MPC.

The noise gets worse when I try and load an play samples, it becomes more constant.

Is there anything I can do to try and fix this problem? to try an avoid the hassle of sending it back and getting a refund.

If you fancy opening it up and taking a look inside (and you feel confident in doing so), then fill your boots mate.

There's a chance something got knocked loose during transit. Enough times i've solved a loose wire or key problem by just opening something up, taking a look inside, and tightening a few screws.....

On t'other hand though.....the weird noise sounds like it might be related to the power source. Maybe it's a faulty fuse? Just check that the power cable isn't worn anywhere as it might be short-circuiting.....same thing happended with my Vestax mixer a few years ago.

I tried it before but didn't realise you had to do it from powering up, just reset it and it works perfectly, sorry for the trouble.
I'm very happy, time to get this beast into action.
