MPC2000 - Should I Buy or No???????

It can be a little finicky, yes, but nothing's wrong with it. There's one button that sticks sometimes and opens a menu, but it doesn't disrupt its functioning, and the disk drive will sometimes not want to read the disk in it and you have to press on the disk until it reads it. There are absolutely no fatal flaws whatsoever, and if you'd like, please feel free to come check it out just to be sure.


Now, that being said, he is only asking $300... so, my question is, are these problems I should be extremely concerned about, or can they be fixed, etc...

Because you can't beat $300 for a 2000, but at the same time I don't want to spend $300 on a piece of equipment that could be useless in a week.

So basically, say the disk problem became a serious problem... what would be the solution/whats the most it would cost me to just fix that permanently?

I wouldn't by that shiet! He is already telling you it has problems and is trying to make it sound like it works fine when in reality there is probably bigger problems or more problems and your gonna spend just as much repairing it if not more money to fix it. I would just buy one that is in perfect condition with no problems.

Also, this is the MPC & system disk only... no power adapter/any other kind of adapter. So, what else all would I be looking at purchasing in order to get this thing up and running so I can start making beats?

And is this the only hardware I'll need to start making beats or do I need some kind of soundboard or something????

I wouldn't buy that shiet man. All you need is a TT, MPC, Records, DAW, MTR, Speakers to make beats.

cop an xl or 3000. Remember you get what you pay for (most of the time).
Although you could just replace the button and a new floppy drive is like $10.......

Bruh, there are flawless 2000s AND 2000XLs selling for $400 and up every day on eBay. True, the floppy replacement is like $10 and doesn't take long, but that combined with a sticky button (buttons?) are signs that this thing may have been abused and you don't want somebody else's problem, ESPECIALLY if you are just getting into making beats.

1. the enviorment wasn't clean

2.the machine was never cleaned

3. the enviorments temperature changed alot, maybe transported around

4.if the buttons are stuck, the Pads are FUKT........
(and no one wants to replace Velocity pads)



keep it pushin.....Try a local craigslist..... or EBay......

the disk problem shouldnt be nothin major. you can replace it or just go with a scsi drive.

anyway, i would look around first. save that 300. you never know, you could use that 300 and add maybe another 150 on to that and find you a working machine. may take a while, but you have to catch deals like that. and ebay is a good place to start. just as long as you understand the saying "buyer beware"

i dont kno how close you to Virginia Beach but this guy has been trying to sell his MPC on craigslist for about a mth.
