Chopping Tutorial.

Is there a way to do it in mpc by itself. I know that if doesn't have zones but is there a work-around? I don't have my mpc yet. It is with the ups man as I speak. Just waiting for him to get here.

I guess you'd just have to do it by ear (Sort of). Its not too hard if you can count bars. Just take the 2 bar loop I provided (or one of your own), and slice it into its individual beats. 1 bar equals 4 beats, so there's 8 beats in a two bar loop.

You can peep the beat I made with that sample on my beats page. I think its called "Soul beat". You'll recognize it...

maybe extract the exact loop u need.. get the calculator out and divide the End value by 8 (or however many steps u want).. then extract and then change the start vlue to the previous end value and add the number to itself on ya calculator, and make this your new End Value.. then extract.. and repeat 8 times? long i know but just a thought? be more accurate than by ear.. if someone could try this out i might make a program in college that works all the values out if u enter the end value.. just to make life a little easier for people.. if no ones tested this before tomorrow ill try it out.. and if works ill hit the coding and if i actually manage to sort it out ill send it to Decepticon to add to his tutorial?

thanks for this tutorial, stepped my samplin game up a notch, I was chopping just the shit that sounded good and making it fit, instead of chopping into notes

Now need to wait on my turntable to get back from Numark, so I can start back to sampling till then, it'll just be a bunch of keyboard beats
