Deleting in play mode

Hi there, how can i delete a track while i am in playmode? I don't know if this is posible?!?

Anybody?

If this cannot be done, i can't see how the mpc 500 can be used live.

What do you mean by "playmode"? - while the 500 is playing? You can delete parts played by pads by holding the erase button and pressing a pad as it plays.

Yes, while playing. Say that you have a midi keyboard in the in-port of the mpc. Then you record somthing into a track, and deside to erase it, while the sequencer is running. How can i delete al data on that specific track?

Mute the track is your best bet.

Hmm. It's odd thet you can't delete a track while the machin is running. I have made a program on an atmel microprosessor that sends "all notes on" when i press a button, then i can hold down erase and push the button on the "all notes on" device until all data on that track is deletet.

Why is track mute not a viable option??

Because i the have to make a new tack every time, with the right program and midi track and so on. I use almost 40 tracks when i make music on the mpc. It would be to dificult to "track" the traks

how come when i record my drums, and hold record and press play to try to record again, it erases my previous recording?

Read up on the difference between record and overdub.
