PSI IIC Reader not recognized - help!!!

Hey everyone,

So I've been fooling with the PSI IIC card reader installation for a few hours now.

After first installing the powerlight worked and everything, but I couldn't load the OS (I thought I could load it direct from the CF reader).

Turns out my OS wasn't flashed to the MPC (I was loading it from floppy every time) - so I put the floppy back in and flashed OS 1.14 to the MPC.

I put the CF reader back in and the MP starts up find, but when I go to the load menu, the "ATAPI" type never shows up in the list, just the usual FLOPPY; F-ROM; and 7 SCSI-ID menus to choose from.

Should I try re-installing the floppy, flashing OS 1.20 to the MP, and trying the CF drive again?

Does anyone have experience with this specific drive? I've tried all possible jumper settings, and the drive lights up on the front - so it's getting power, the MP just won't recognize it with OS 1.14.

I'm a lil scared to put OS 1.20 on the MP in case I need to use the floppy drive again and it won't work, but I guess we'll see!!

IT WORKS!!!!!

I put back in the floppy, flashed OS 1.20, re-installed the card reader, and it works!

So, for all those looking to do the upgrade, the PSI IIC card reader works - current price listed on their site is $85 - not too bad.

I'll let you know if it proves to be hot-swappable and read/writable.

... can someone please consolidate all these card reader threads into a sticky?

we need to go ahead and find out all the readers that ACTUALLY work.

Do you know how much work you are asking me to do? . It aint happening. Just use the search function and find cards readers.......
