JUST OPEN MY BOX 4hrs ago.. Now my LCD screen FADES AWAY??

Okay I told myself that I could handle learning this on my own.. but now I have some serious issuses with my investment.

Ive been testing my MPC 1000 now for 4hrs.. Loaded a Sample.. Fine.. Even Tracked A Beat Out in Pro Tools..

Now I turned off my unit and powered on and the screen fades away after a couple of seconds. STILL LIT GREEN AND BLANK MIND YOU... I tired other power sources but still the same result.

I knew there where problems with the operating system.. but could this be related?

Or did I just buy a bunk MPC when Mercury is Retrograde?

PEACE R'SPECT

MUCH BLESSINGS

Before you panic, try adjusting the contrast.
Hold SHIFT and rotate the JOG WHEEL if you are on the akai OS.

The contrast will change as the machine warms up especially if it's been sitting in a cold room. That's the nature of liquid crystal displays. Just readjust.

Thanks guys.. figured that out.. but it wasnt the contrast..
I seriously thought it was that.. or that I shocked it with a statitic current cause Ive fried hd's because of that reason...
But the store I brought it from swapped it out no problem..
Now just worried that my new MPC will burn out on me in due time..

generally speaking they are extremely reliable. but when i first got my mpc off ebay, it kept crashing randomaly. got it sent off for repairs soo pissed off, and then the delivery company lost the package, so i got a brand new mpc on delivery insurance. hehe. since then, new mpc hasnt crashed. so im sure ur new one will b fine.
