Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I received my used MPC 2000xl today (damn those pads feel good compared to my SP1200 buttons), but I'm afraid that my screen does not have much time left before it closes its eyes.

When I adjust the contrast of the screen to as light as possible, the screen is still pretty yellow. I have no problems seeing the writing, but compared to some of the glowing white screens I've seen here my screen seems pretty tired.

It also have two vertical stripes that looks a bit like dead pixels. The stripe in the middle of the screen is there 90% of the time, while the stripe to the right is there 30% of the time. I guess since its on and off its not dead pixels, but maybe this is the first step to a dead screen?

Here is three pictures of my screen so you can judge for yourself:

I'm not a master of linking images, but just copy the URL you see into a new browser tab/window to watch the full sized images.

What do you guys think? I have never seen a MPC2000xl screen before, so I don't have a point of reference. If this is a bad screen, I think I will contact the seller and ask him to pay 50% of the value of a new screen from mpcstuff.com. I got the MPC today, and he accept returns of the MPC for 7 days from today.

I'm especially concerned for the two vertical stripes you can see in the pictures. What is that? Shall I ask for money from him, or maybe return the whole MPC2000xl?

Thank you in advance

Ahm, I don't think there's something wrong with your screen. Here is a picture of mine which is a nice and brand new 2kxl screen:

I think I've helped enough.

Oh shit, I've just noticed the vertical stripe in the middle! Yep, that shouldn't be there, which means a damaged screen. Get that refund and use my photo as an evidence of what a healthy screen should look like (the right side of my screen looks the same as the left, it's just the photo bad).

Thanks!

Its especially those stripes that concerns me. When a screen got something like that I feel that the screen could break down any minute, or it could last for 10 years like that. Hard to tell, but if it breaks down next week, I don't want to be the one that pays the bill.

So the brightness of my screen looks ok? Maybe I'm mixing up pictures from different MPC-models and thinking that the screen should be bright white, when its normal that it is yellow.

my mp started to do the same thing with the dead pixel strips a little while ago

I've been waiting to read it the last rights for a over year....

The are three kinds of MPC screens: the old school orange, the next model yellow and the last blue ones (mine is that).

ah, so then the brightness of my screen isn't that bad.

Maybe I'll propose for the seller that we split the payment of a new screen into two..that would maybe be fair for both?

If you can get him to send you some cash for that, it would be great.
