just to change the vibe on this thread (rather than start a new one) -

nice shop guys:

- i picked up sweet buns and bbq yesterday, and the shop guy was kind enough to clean it up for me on his crazy ass vacuming cotton thread machine (they usually charge about £5 for that). it looked almost new when it was done.

aaaah, nice vibes.

THATS WHAT PEOPLE DONT SEE THE WORK INVOLVED. we clean our record with that VPI machine and and we use a cleaner to preserve the record, we put or records in plastic to help the customer maintain the originality of the the cover,
we will be starting a cleaning service soon where we will clean and preserve your records for you ,plus we are looking around right now for a dewarping machine that we will also be doing a service for that too.

some cats these days think it's all about convenience which it is don't get me wrong ,but then you get big chain stores that get to overwhelmed with people and they cant keep up on customer service,
I'm speaking about record store's here, NOW charity shop's is different ,

yes i have gone to shops that don't want to budge on the price or they got some, clown in the back that's new to records and thinks he can price them at outrageous priices. there a fucin charity shop not a record store.
i have seen some records at thrifts that go for more in the TS then at our store,and they dont even clean them or store them right , i have gone to shops that have there records next to a huge window and the sun beating on the them,i have gooten in to it with people about the way they treat there records.

as i said before SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RECORD SHOP >>>MOM&POP SHOPS is where it's at they know more then your big chain dtore s that are just looking to make that money.

about that de-warping machine.. i was talking to a shopkeeper about that, he seemed to think that although you might be able to flatten the record, it would never have the same sound.
i assume he meant that as the grooves have been streched by the warping, you will still have distortions even though the record appeard (to the eye) to be fixed.
has anyone done a comparison test with mint and fixed vinyl? i'd be interested to see two wavs lined up next to each other for a true test. (otherwise you mght be selling inferior sounding wax as VG NM).

i would thnk it really depend on the warp,if it's taco shaped or skate park wavy then yes it would prolly effect the gruv,
but it its just a dish warp or semi crinkled (that warp that you can still play and dont sound to badly warped,NOT QUITE NOTICABLE SOME TIMES)
NO i dont think it will effect it, i have done some dewarping with glass and heat, and i have never had a prblem with the sound,NO i dont sell those records those are my personal collection!!!they sound good i play them out a gigs .

now this machine is like a press that applys heat to the warped part.i dont know to much about it but this is what i have read on some info i have researched.my partner knows more about it cause he's the one buying it for the store.

but yes thats a good point i'll have to lookin to that.

I'm pretty picky about condition, but occasionally I'll get something that looks clean and then it'll skip.
I hate to see warped records too.

I get along well with the local record clerks. In my experience, if you make an attempt to be friendly, usually you're treated well.

sup peeps, it's been a minute, but what Im about to complain about is my own fault. I hate when I go diggin with a group and the one who dont know what he doing get to all the fire shit before me.

that why i never understood the 'group' digs. i dont want anybody in the whole store let alone one of my boys right next to me scooping up what shouldve been my raers..
