midi beat clock vs midi time code

Synching my mpc to protools, I wanted to know whats better between both of these options. And whats the difference between them?

I PREFER THE MIDI BEAT CLOCK PERSONALLY BECAUSE THE MTC SOMETIMES DOESN'T START WHEN YOU WANT IT TO SO YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD PRE-ROLL TO THE TRACK.

apparently using mtc is the better of the two. it is more precise


but i havent a and b's the same beat using both processes yet... will post results soon

I perfer MTC myself. From what i gather midi clock just sends simple messages like start and stop. The way MTC works( I think)is it sends out pulses every so often to ensure accurate sync.
