Yes I know, but the idea is that you could "audition" them form the CF/HD without actually permanently loading them into the memory and replacing the original, before you've found the best sound for you purpose, at which point you just press/select "replace sample".
The workflow I'm after is this:
- you have a huge collection of single hit samples in specific folder like bass/snare/hihat/cymbal/percussion/tom/etc.
- you quickly load some random bass, snare and hihat samples into the memory
- you quickly write down the drum beat idea you had in mind
- after you've done the sequencing, you then start browsing your single hit sample libraries for the best fitting samples and hear them in the actual sequenced drum tracks (while the song is playing at the background)
That last part should be very quick and easy to do if the feature I proposed would be implemented
