Quick Question

Im not a Computer Tech...but


Does the disk PARTITION have anything to do with the numbers of FOLDERS you can create in it?

(Im using a zip disk)

For each root partition you can only have 512 entries, entries being anything on the root drive/partition, ie, folder, file, whatever.

Now if it's inside a folder that is on the root it doesn't count against the 512 entry limitation of fat16 format.

ie:

x:/song1 -> song1 is 1 entry on the root.
x:/song2 -> song2 is #2 entry on the root.
x:/snap.wav -> snap.wav is #3 entry on the root. etc

x:/song1/boomkik.wav doesn't count against your 512 entry limit on the root because it's in a folder.
