Samples overlap???

I recently bought an mpc 1000 in hopes of not having to use FL Studio anymore. I'm having trouble with samples loaded into programs. I noticed that when i slice samples within the MPC, I can trigger the pads without it overlapping. However, when I load pre sliced samples into it, it overlaps when i trigger them through the pads. My mpc 1000 is fully updated and I was wondering do anyone have any suggestions to my problem.

press shift+program and go to params
press pad on sample of choice
set overlap to mono


i have the mpc 2000xl but it should still be the same...i think.
