os reinstalled and still no luck. anybody have some suggestions?? SHWELL, how did yours behave when you got your memory installed? also, what kind of memeory is it? thanks

damn....i installed akai os 2.11, and im getting this error:

cpu address error (read)


and then it says a bunch of other stuff and has rows of "f" along teh bottom.


i took the memory out, and it detects the standard 16mb and loads up the os fine. is this just bad memory?

hopefully someone can shed light on this... but i dont think the outlook is good... :?

I wonder if it has somehting to do with the new black mpc1000s?
Should there be a list for blue and black mpc's?

My ram was : 256mb 144-pin sodimm 32mx64 pc133 cl2
I got it from Crucial, brand new.

alright...i found this link deep within this 30 page thread, and im thinking of getting it. but FIRST can someone please confirm that this will work? sorry im sounding like a broken record, but i do not want to gothru another bad piece of memory:

I posted this a few pages back, but to keep such a good deal on the current page is a no brainer.......


I got RAM from this guy on ebay and it does NOT work.. I'm getting the dreaded 8c000000 error from the memory check at bootup. Wish I would have gone with newegg instead of this cheap shit.

word up forax, mine from that auctino didnt work either. looks like that guy is hit or miss. to be safe, id say go with newegg for that kingston valueram or something.

in the end i ordered an akai 128mb ram mod for £54, which isnt thaaaat bad. rather that then buy ram after ram hoping one works!

damn...thast like 100$+ us dollars right? thast kindof a big jump for me...i went the 35$ route and went for the kingston ram module from newegg. it has been confirmed by multiple ppl earlier in this thread. hope it works! theres even an ebay auction that is selling aftermarket ram for 40$ or so, and they market it saying it is compatible with the mpc 1000.

its KINGSTON PC133 133MHz 144-pin SODIMM - KVR133X64SC3/256

and it works!

you can also find this same chip on newegg. thansk again for the help guys.

Has anyone tried or does anyone own any Trancsend Compact Flash cards for their Mpc????? If soo do they work properly cause I found one for 4 bucks if it wokrs good im getting it..Its only 128mb but what the heck for 4 bucks that cant be beat...

that works for the 2500? someone told me some of the kingston works in the 1000 but not in the 2500 please let me know
