Swapping the floppy drive for usb ide -

I met a guy once who told me he had removed the floppy drive on his mpc2000xl and replaced it with a usb port connected via ide. Does anyone know what type of port I need and where to get it? [/b]

....so its only the akai smart reader from mpcstuff.com then that goes in there. No usb keys at all. The guy said he had the different songs for a set just on a usb key on his keyring. Guess he was just lying then??!
