TC questions: do you use the same one all the time?

Hey all - I usually keep TC off, but it seems like it could help a lot - do you guys leave one TC value on all or most the time, or do you have to change it for every song? If you change it a lot, how do you know which one to use?

i use it for kicks and snares but just put it on how every ur fastest note being played is gana b then once u record it fck w the swing till it fits w the sample rite..use ur ears

it's up to you. if ur programming a simple beat then it makes sense to use TC.

if you have a pattern in mind that you imagine would be better without TC, turn it off...

and which TC to use...depends on where you want the notes..

I use it for my snare and thats usually it. With my kicks and hats I like doing it on my own to get that natural feel to it. Sometimes with a difficult melody ill turn it on so its on point.

sometimes its different and sometimes its the same. it really depends on the song and the groove you're going for.

play around with it for a while and learn what it can do for your drums. listen to how each setting affects the timing. then you will start to learn when you would actually use which setting. it just takes a bit of time.

i quite often have it on and record my basics of the beat like kick hats n snare then i construct my bass lines samples and or midi synth grooves to what i know is a solid time beat.

then i`ll often re record the beats and snares with timing off to `push` and `pull` the beat and give it a less strict studio feel, trying to capture that `humanised` drummin but knowing that my melodys are tight giving me more room to play.
