New to sampler. Quick question

What is the relationship between the sampler’s internal memory, voices and loading off the CF card?

A. Is it possible for the sampler to play very long samples regardless of sampler memory? Or sample playback length determined by memory for example a max of 24m28s

B. Are the samples being streamed off the CF card?


C. Can multiple samples be played at the same time?

A.) You can only play a sample which does not excede the RAM of the MPC. 16MB is the stock RAM but you can upgrade to 128MB. It can be as long as you want as long as the total size of the sample does not excede 128MB.

B.) No, samples are not streamed off the CF card

C.) yes of course you can play multiple samples at once, as long you don't excede polyphony

Now in regards to polyphony, is it possible to use up all polyphony by using a single complex stereo sample? Or when the specs says 32 voice polyphony and could play 32 mono samples?

Nope, a single "complex" stereo sample will use no more polyphony than a "non-complex" stereo sample, whatever that even means. The sample could be 10 seconds of stereo silence, or 10 stereo seconds of an 80 piece orchastra and it would use the same polyphony. (as long as the 80 piece orchestra is one sample, and not several layered together within the MPC).
