Does anyone else have trouble sampling 808 kicks with the MPC60? I always get clicks and pops at the beginning or end of the kick sample, and i try adjusting the soft start and end with no luck. Im thinking the frequency of the 808 kick wave is not MPC60 friendly?

Yeah, the 60 can be like that sometimes. I had some problems sampling the bass from my micro moog too. How the DAC trims are set can cause this also, they do need to be adjusted from time to time. If you notice that setting the decay doesn't help, that is a likely culprit.

Yup...that's the major downfall of the 60. It's really not something you want all over your sounds all of the time. I've also found that the envelope isn't very useful for filtering the noise tails out.

Yeah it's best to use Bass Samples that you have already fixed & EQ'd and then use them with the 60. That's the only workaround or use a keyboard.

I use my Emax or s900 for low-end sounds that don't work on the 60. They don't do the squelchy thing.
