if I have 5 different one hit drum samples in one sequence all going to the same output on the 8-out board I am not able to pre mix the sequence on the mpc.......the internal mix function of the mpc only seems to works through the original stereo output .....when you operate a pad slider in the mix window of a sample you are listening to, the gain of the sample does not alter whither its full up or off...........

any advice would be appreciated

you can only use the pans with the stereo outs...the individual outs are just volume controls....

basically the mixer with the pans are for the stereo outs...you need go to the individual screen to assign a pad to an output...

You'd have to adjust the volume at the sample level, go into edit sample.

"You'd have to adjust the volume at the sample level, go into edit sample"

Not necessary for the MPC2k series. There are individual ouptut level controls in the mixer section.

I did not realize you [elmacaco] owned an MPC2k. I though you only have the MPC60. They do differ in this respect.
