chop chop... you need to find a software to chop on, lotta cats usin reason so you might check that out or myself I chop everything on acid pro but theres tons of software out there to chop samples on... basically you'll need to chop chop and import to ya mpc or you could use the trim function if you got all the time in the world.
Another idea is to invest in sound banks!

Couple options, first is you can search online for free samples... if you know how to search you can come across a lotta different shit
To sample shit try out Audacity, it's free, u use it for trimming songs. It's straight forward, just drag an mp3 file in there, highlight the part you can, ctrl + c to copy, then open a new window, ctrl v to paste it, save it as wav.
So you save your file somewhere, then plug in your MPC through USB and youre good to go, just drag and drop, load sample, the end
Or you can get a mic and record your own stuff

The 500 will record anything that you connect to the "Input" on the back (2 1/4in cables). Record Player, TV, CD Player, Computer Sound Card, SNES, whatever...
Then go to trim mode and get that shit how you want it. Or use extract + Trim to chop a sample into pieces, use mute groups to play these pieces in a new way (they'll stop when you hit a new pad, meaning continuous sound.)

Brilliant suggestion... I love this feature myself... I grab sound bytes off the pc, turntable, tv & like you said "anything that you connect"... it's a nice feature!
I'd use caution using the free sounds tho and there are many many good ones BUT there are those not royalty free, corrupted and some just out right illegal from my experience.
