Ive been looking forward to this for ages and Pad pattern is cool, especially the way it integrates into grid edit and its good to see that the patterns retrigger now too, but how come we can't use them from pads in the main screen? This was one of the ideas initially i think, and would make this thing really useful. The pad shift options been taken out too, something else which i thought'd be sick. Anyone any ideas whether this might happen further down the line?can we assume that "specification is still yet undecided"?
I should add too i hadn't even considered how useful this step arpsequio thing would be until JJ first announced it, so i can't really be too critical!

also ive spotted a bug..it only seems to work on pad bank A for me i'll double check and report it in the proper place!

Still no velocity layers for instrument programs? What are they good for then?

OS2 rocks so far, but theres still a lot of room for improvement imo. Maybe wait for the the next few updates.
But i´m glad to see most older projects work just fine (only some adjustments to do)

yeah, i noticed that as well. there's no way to select a different pad bank in that screen. the only way to select a different pad bank is to hit the window button and go back to the grid, then hit the window button again.
there's a few other things that need some improvements. but i gotta go over them a bit more.

Yeah i get that with the window button in the grid loop edit mode, but it jumps back to pad bank A if you hit the pad, it does this in pattern mode too, if you scroll the Sound: parameter to bank B,C or D it jumps back to bank A when hit a pad.

Im not gettin any stack dumps though, has that got anthin gto do with the system restore that was needed after 8.whatever that was behaving malevolently!?
altough i am getting the graphics acting a little weird if go to far to the right>nothing really bad though.

Yeah I see what you mean now. Somehow I didn't notice it before.

I'm not aware of having to reset the machine after installing a certain version of OS2. But I'll look again at JJ's website to see if I missed something.

I just found it in the bug list section...
http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/bug/

I don't know if it still applies to the current version. But I got nothing to lose by giving it a try.

No luck at all.
Pattern Mode has given me 3 different stack dumps so far.

i like everything that i have messed with sofar. but i don't understand like yeah in pattern mode. you make a pattern for a specific bad with a specific sound. but once you hit f1 and save the pattern how do you apply it. like once you leave that screen it stops using the pattern.

raider just hit numeric in the grid screen and choose your pattern.

on another point
Imagine how dope it would be if the ADSR values were q-linkable

i think thats the way it is at the moment, although you can incorporate your patterns in grid mode loop edit (ave yer pad pattern first if your in pad mode 11). I get the impression from what nym said about the earlier versions of pad mode that it could be accessed from the main sceen. In fact thats why the midi note numbers were removed from that screen originally (although they're back in now).
for me this is cool to have fun with, but i can only see me getting totally into it if you can trigger these patterns live with the sequencer running... i guess we'll have to wait and see.

oh crap is that how you do it?

oh right im with you now...for recording your patterns into grid edit! for one amazing moment i though you were on about live triggering from the main screen..and then i read the word grid..

btw i think mpc tutor is a bit of prude..im not one for foul mouth talk usually but he won't even let me say cr@p! how does he listen to any hiphopmusic at all! haha
