Stupid Question about Records

i know this is a stupid question, but is there anything you can do about records that are bent? not bent real bad, but just enough to not play right. holla...

Not really, unfortunately. If you look on google, theres a site out there that recommends putting it in the oven, but I forget how they say to do it.

I went down to visit my girl in Tampa and found an ill spot to dig. I brought back a crate (maybe 50 records...), and half of em were warped from sittin in my trunk in the hot ass Florida sun. Warped records blow...

heres a method that works fairly decently. take a couple panes of glass and put your record in between. put them in a warm but not hot place. your looking for around 90 degrees or so i guess. then stack a bunch of books or anything weighty on top and leave for a few days. this will help out a lot.

you dont have to use glass or books, but you get the idea.

dont put them in the oven unless you really want to fuk them up.

i had a jerry butler i wanted to snatch too.....maybe the glass/book method will work. thanks....

That works, i've done it a few times. Make sure you put a clean sheet of paper on either side of the record to avoid scratches.
I don't know how many degrees, i put it behind my window in the sun for half a day.

if they arent too bad, sometimes you can just adjust the weight on your turntable arm to the heaviest setting and it wont jump.

every time you take out the guilty record place your thunbs in the middle and your fingers on the edge and just bend it back into shape, it may not work instantly, but just do it every time you play it and it will eventually be sorted. this is how I do it.

Don't flex too much tho, I snapped the first disc of expansion team by giving it a tad too much. .....

i've snapped 2 or 3 reords trying to do that. i've fixed some, broke said others. there are some though, yall know what im talking about, that are justed fukced, you know? those get the weight/glass/heat treatment.

yeah you take two pieces of glassa lil bigger than the record and put it outside where the sun can heat it up . you set it out in the morning and by the evening your record should be ok,it has to sit most of the day.

flexing the record in not recommended it strechtes the groove.

try this it works got it from one of those do it your self fix it booklets you get at the grocery store, the little books they have while waiting in line.
