Is it possible to use the jj os2 without a password?

I'm running OS1 (with password purchased) and tried to update to OS2.

But after I enter the flash/erase/update screen - it says, that there is no OS to update.

Why doesn't the mpc recognize the os file?
What am I doing wrong here?

Try updating from the LOAD screen (MODE + PAD7).
You should be able to see the OS2 file extension.
Also keep in mind that you have to have JJ OS1 4.98 or higher installed in order for the 1k to see the OS2.

It definitely will not work if you are using the old POWER ON + WINDOW method to upgrade.

I'm running 4.99 - but the trick with the load screen works fine - thanks.... :)

AND cudos to JJ - that "switch between the OS" feature is hella nice...

cool. glad you got it sorted out.
the"switch between the OS" is definitely convenient. it reminds me of how computers are set up for a dual-boot environment. 8)
