I'm sure this has been discussed but I cannot seem to find a thread anywhere. Anyways how do I do this. I was trying to put my ish into Pro-Tools and we couldnt figure out how to convert my samples to Mono so they would take up less tracks.

I think you just have to bounce to disk in multiple mono. Wav files, at 16 bit, then just drag either the L or R file to the removable CF drive icon.

So there is no way I can do it via the Akai Sampler itself then??

That really blows.

I don't use Pro Tools but I would be very suprised if there was not an easy way to convert stereo files into mono files within Pro Tools as Sound Forge and Wavelab have this utility and it is fast and painless.

You can record your samples in MONO directly (highlight the STEREO field and change values with the data wheel).

If you have loaded a stereo WAV you should be able to resample the main out in MONO to obtain a mono sample.

Could you tell me how to do that. I tried reading the manual but I couldn't find anything.

simple
enter RECORD mode
in the upper left of the screen set the Input to MAIN OUT, then move the cursor a tad to the right where it says Mode, and set it toi MONO RIGHT or MONO LEFT and resample your stuff to mono. (you can hit a pad and resample that or play a sequence and resample that. exactly as youo would from an external source.
