I been playing with the os and now when you switch to 32's in the TC it doesnt enlarge the grid . Is there a way to get down to 32's or even down to a tick , cos i used to use this for making crazy frum rolls .

Thanks

you still can record notes at those increments
but TC is no longer ZOOM if that's what you're asking

yeah i think JJ has gotta bring this one back. seems an important part of some peoples workflow. maybe he just can't figure out how to make it work with the pad pattern yet.

I really hope he brings this back also, especially now with the way you can edit the velocity. Amazing. Hear me JJ!

play it or use midi grid edit haha
no, i realize it's different, and i admit to being a little one sided here but hear me out and hopefully this can end in the best way

when TC OFF created an UNUSABLE zoom that was way too far
at that point, it ceased to be grid edit, you simply couldn't use it in TC off. everything else was ok--1/8-1/32(3) view was decent,

now, though you can't "zoom," you can leave TC off without moving from your zoom.
much, much better for folks who play their notes in TC off. i've gone a couple months very very rarely stepping into TC (other than shift, and metronomic purposes, though i would die for a "quantize strength" percentage. lordy...)

the problem unfortunately is that you can't "see" the notes that are closer together. however, you can edit them. just move to the time location that it's been placed, whatever it be, and if step sound is on it'll play. plus you'll see it in the edit bay in the upper right. in TC off, getting to these spots is still difficult because the data wheel moves in increments of 1.

now.

the ideal is already established in Midi Grid Edit: zoom and TC are 2 separate entities. that's the best way, and it would make everyone happy. if a separate ZOOM and TC setting could be implemented in GRID edit, it would become vastly superior and would make everyone happy

but meanwhile i suggest more people start trying MGE in general...i find it to be the strongest sequencer in the mpc (of what, the 4.6 sequencing styles that we have in the jjos2...!)

Yeah thats exactly what i would like to see a seperate zoom and TC

yes. i asked about this in the thread about the new update. this is really starting to be a problem for me. although i am starting to figure out how to use the new way of adding smaller subdivisions of the beat. the only thing that really bothers me about the new update to os2 is that 16 pad view of grid edit is pretty much useless. you can't do pattern adding. you can't do the new way of adding smaller beats, you can't do the alternate view of grid edit with the sample names by the corresponding pads. This is the thing that really bothers me, because i used 16 pad view way more than6 pad view. it just doesn't really seem fair to take out that entire section of grid edit because pretty much it is useless if you want to use the new pattern editing or patterns or anything. I really really hope JJ fixes this when either the new update comes out or at least by 1.0. And on that topic, does any one know when exactly in March 1.0 is coming out or has that been pushed back.

Peace

in the meantime switch to midi grid edit, for DRUM, INST or MIDI tracks. highly recommended, you'll be glad
