Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By popiol Sat Feb 23, 2008 10:57 am
When I want to load a sample, mpc shows me 'No SCSI device', Type is 'No disk' I have an external scsi zip drive.
The chosen device is 'SCSI-5', just like on a drive.
I tried few disks (old, new, formatted...) and still nothing...
What's the problem?
Should I buy a new zip drive or a cord?

Set your SCSI ID according to what the manual suggest.

Parallel/SCSI combo drives won't work, use a strictly SCSI drive....

It's strictly connected, and I'm sure that it's connected properly.. I think that cord or drive is broken... but maybe there's another problem?

Did you check what I suggested?

Yes, thanx man but listen - that device was good and worked well...
I think that I need a new one, I want to buy an internal drive, would Nec's FZ110A be OK? I heard that iOmega is better.

Previously worked well with what gear? 2kxl doesn't like parallel/scsi combo drives. Scsi only.

Interal one what? SCSI, Atapi MCD, what?

I had an internal iomega 250 zip 3 years ago. I'm MCD on my 2kxl now...

Follow the instructions on that site, yes, it's correct.....

You can buy those power cable parts at your local pc
store and cut them to match the picture. Black to black
and red to red. Use electric tape.
