What is the exact type of interface I am looking for the 2500?? Is it IDE or another type of interface. I order the dw 224e from comuvest and it is the wrong drive. Interface is wrong. And if anyone has an exact link or pictures or anything that would help.

what do you mean interface is wrong?

you gotta push in one the pins on the cd-rom drive so it doesnt set itself to master.

I bought a "Samsung TS-L462 24x CD-RW/8x DVD Notebook IDE Drive (Black)"

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=TS-L462

pushed in the pin 47, but doesnt work. the mpc showed the drive, and it seemed alive, but when i tried to load from it, it just froze on me, or said that "device not ready". i just wasted 50 bucks. DAMMMMiittt

neovinyl212 wrote:its because of the buffer in that drive it needs to be 2 mb or more

that's not necessarily true, the cd drive i bought has a 2mb buffer, but it freezes when i try to load from it. i note that the pin 47 is pushed bakk.

here's the link for the cd drive

JPetrov, it's all good.... theres 2 things you need to do..Take the alloy casing off and remove the adaptor where the pins are at the back.

Just a reminder...the pin 47 push in applies only if you have a harddrive installed...I left the pin alone and it works fine.
