problem,

I'm not new to the forum, I had a 2500 for a year and a half, had to sell it.

Just got a 1000 and everytime i put the compact flash card in it, the screen goes blank and makes a low screaching noise. Please help

check the pins inside the card slot. use a flashlight or lighter and see if any are bent. If only one or a couple are bent, you may be able to bend them back with a bobby pin or needle nosed pliers. if you do this, be very careful and make sure not to bend any of the other pins out of place.

if it's not a pin issue then maybe someone else can help.

yeah, it's a bent pen, never happend to me befor, if it's bent will there be anymore problems

if you bend it back it should work fine. mine had a bent pin when i first got it as well. i bent it back w/ a bobby pin and it hasn't given me any problems since.
