MPC2000XL Advise on purchase.

I found a 2000XL for pretty cheap, I have a MPC1000 right now and it needs new pads. I'd rather get something else to be honest. Are there any pad issues with the 2000XL? Problems, issues, consider this an upgrade? Im not really familiar with it, other than the swivle screen and different pads. Thanks...... hope to get a response soon, this seller is good to go.

XL pads are soft and bangin

Yeah Ive played on them only once, but they feel SO MUCH better. Its got little to no use he says, picture looks good. He said 700 bucks if I want it today. Shiiiiiit, I can sell my 1000 for 5 or 600, so the difference between that and buying new pads, its almost cheaper to get this.

well realize cuz that theres not a lot of editing you can do in the XL vs the 1000 but if u aint worried about that, go for it. Also keep in mind you can edit in a DAW or other gear upgrades. Good luck cuz

Really...... limited editing?

no USB, but you can buy a hard drive but I dont see a need for this... just upgrade to OS 1.2 and get a compact flash drive. You can then use 1GB flash cards to save to, which will hold you over for a very long time.

You may want to read or re-read this before making your decision. I prefer the 2000XL myself.

i use both and i dont feel limited by the xl at all. i actually prefer it over the 1000. the difference in the features forces you to become more familiar with your sound. but i can so anything just as fast on the xl as the 1000.

The JJ additions pretty much make that list of differences obsolete. In my opinion the 1000 is much better value for money even if you buy an old one and have to buy the new pads...ive used the 2000 and the 2000xl.
Is the xl cheaper than the new pads?..i guess not.?
Some of the newer capabilities of the 1000 are only seen in the 4000&5000 (ADSR etc etc) .
Also in my opinion there are better ways to limit yourself than to buy something which isn't as good and is more expensive.Although props to people who make the most out of what they've got...I ve spent years chopping hundreds of samples by hand on my emu so trust me ive been there.
as far as editing goes on the 2000's go..it takes ages for the waveform to get drawn on the screen. For me chopping samples on a jj 1000 is a breeze..often quicker for me to get exactly what i want than in recycle, which most of the time you have to tweak anyway...

The 2000's look cooler though..no dis intended.
