yeah i got it thx fellaz... got 1 more question tho... i was trying to transfer sounds from a lap top to the hard drive via USB and the laptop is not really recognizing the mpc even when i press the USB button on the Mpc it says connected and it just freeze.. i did the same thing to my boys mpc when i hit usb on the mpc said accessing and im able to drag n drop the files to the harddrive.. i never got that msg on my mpc, and when i check the drives on the comp. there is not e/f drive that says its connected.. could it be the OS? my boy had v.1.1 and mine is v.1.0..

Ok....let's assume you formatted your drive in the meantime. If not....well, you know the rest.

Then you have to select what you want to mount on the PC in the MPCs USB tab on the Load/Save screen. You can either mount the CF or the harddrive. If it is set to CF and there's no card in the CF slot, it will probably have problems accessing it.

@nessnice: are you on a mac or a pc? the early os versions had some issues with mac and the usb cable had to be removed after each transfer and you had to trash the mpc drive before disconnecting.
update your os to 1.23 if you have not done yet. it is free and there are less bugs in it.
also there are some new functions in it, like 8 and 16 pad view in grid edit and so on.
