Pretty clean one. I also have the 1000 and figured since the opportunity came my way that I'd try this old beast out. Seems like choppings gonna be alot tougher. How do I adjust the bars for a sequence, figured it would be on the main screen but I cant cursor over, yeah, read the manual I know, doing that.

Nevermind, I found it, just seems funny it wouldn't be on the Play/Record Screen.

When starting a new seq use erase , soft key 2 "Initialize Sequence" then you can set the bars and bpm and other settings for the new seq.

tougher? man chopping drums on this is fine. cause that doesnt take long.

however chooping on this piece is like the worse thing i couls imagine no lie. please bare in mine I be no means make loop beats. so chopping for me consists of much more. I literally took like 20-30 min to chop some stuff up and by that time i was HELL NO!!!! no way. with this OS or new OS, hell NO!!!! what takes me 10 min on a asr takes me 30 min on this piece. so its settled for me.

Great for sequencing and drums and dope sound.

I see why guys have 1000's or 2000's laying around still has a chop box.

Iam just going to keep the asr10/3k combo.

How so? Can you elaborate on this. I am used to chopping with my eyes ears rather quickly on the 1000. I am still trying to figure out the workflow on the 3000.

I sample my stuff in smaller pieces like 2 beats or 1 bar and then truncate cause it tends to be faster to truncate shorter stuff on it.

I dont knock the overall machine bro. It is what it is....since you have a 1000, just use it as a chop box.

The problem with chopping on the 3k and 60 is they dont have a copy parameters option. So every time you copy a sample it wastes your memory. That is what i like about the eps and asr they can copy a sample with out wasting memory. I only use my 60 for drums and stuff. Those are real easy to chop. I load a break loop into sound forge. Auto region it , then sample each individual sample , then re chop each sample so its tight. Use this technique when getting your individual chops. Set your play x to after soft end. Then you set your do: section to del after soft end. This way you can go back to the soft end section and spin the dial counter clockwise while simultaneously pushing the soft 3 key till you hear some sound. Then you back off alittle bit and push soft key 4 which removes the sound after this point.

Now the crazy thing is that the 60II w/ the 2.12 OS allows you to have the same sound on more than one pad without having to save the sound again and wasting memory... I always noticed that when I had a floppy tell me it was "damaged", the sound that was damaged sounding tended to be a sound that I had on more than one pad so I assumed that that feature was left out to help with that problem.

OS 2.12 is terrible so whateva that program sucked at once you go to 3.10 it's fixed.
