I searched. Even went back about 20 pages. I just need the thread that shows what is lost from going to ver. 2 from version 1. I remember you go from 4 to 3 layers and from 2 to one filters... I may just switch to version 2 permanantly. Oh, I've seen the chart, but it doesn't really explain what you lose. Thanks in advance...

There's a list on JJs page.

[TRIM]
New Feature. It can have now two or more start point and end point.
One sample is divided into plurality and it is assigned to PAD, respectively.
PAD01-> chop1
PAD02-> chop2
PAD03-> chop3
|
PAD16-> chop16

Excuse my ignorance, but can someone go into a bit more detail about what exactly this means?

i think its referring to the non-destructive chop

a couple things
velocity->start, velocity->attack
filter 2
layer 4

i do not miss layer 4 or filter 2 at all
velocity->start i prefer the more predictable qlink to the less repeatable pad
velocity attack i do miss, but it's a small trade off for adsr

Thank you boys... I've been using Ver. 2 quite a bit lately. I haven't bought the code yet, but that's just because it seemed so much different at first that I thought I wouldn't like it. I now love the new main screen and the arpegiater is so easy and fun to create with. The only thing holding me back from switching over completely is the fact that right now you can't edit more in depth than a 16th note in the window section of the grid edit. This new way is amazing. I really think JJ will add 32nd notes etc. I know you can edit them in, but right now if you do that and go back into grid, it seems a bit buggy. I'm deffinately sold though... I fugure I can always switch back to ver. 1 if I need it.

Oh Nym! I love your videos, keep them coming. I would love to see a video on different sequencing methods. Also getting the most of filters. How did you make your jog wheel?

How did you make your jog wheel?

good question. i was wondering the same thing.

what is that, nym? looks like something that came from some UFO debris around Area 51.

oh, it's some old radio tuner knob. same rotary encoder underneath, though i had to modify it a little bit to fix. i actually had to rasp away a little bit from the mPC shell itself so it'd fit hahah

it's a tiny bit offcenter, too, which sucks
i'll mod it further in the future next time my rotary encoder wears out.

but lately i've been taking everything apart and collecting the potentiometers. there are HUNDREDS of thousands of potentiometers in this world on old, broken equipment. some of these things are real high quality, too.

did you know that if you took the pot from the volume/record volume knobs of the MPC and soldered them in where the qlinks went, you'd have knobs instead of sliders? i'm not saying i would do it, it's just cool to think

all this shit is connected and i don't mean in some metaphysical sense

and a vid on strictly midi grid edit is on the way.

i actually filmed an ADSR video today with 2 cameras. i'm stepping up my production values significantly. i don't know how to chip cameras yet so the gain's a little off but the lighting was badass!

cam 1 is shooting the projected screen of the mpc
cam 2 is shooting my silhouette as i converse

a fireside chat with nym's shadow.

my man dan velez was on the switchboard, he was directing the whole shit. he owns an mpc1000 too and doesn't know much about using it, so i'm tutoring him in return for his video prowess. i'll make some food and buy him a couple beers. a very good guy, amazingly helpful and quick to detail.
