drums

ok so i have the mpc 1000 and im startin to figure this thing out...im having this problem and i dont know if im handling this right... so iv got a sample iv got it choped up and set as a program...im trying to figure out how to put drums over it... see what i do is go into the program screen...set some drums in a different pad bank of my program... but when i actually play the drum even if its on a pad that doesnt have a sample on it. the sample seems to stop when i hit the pad...im rambling i know but this is my situation.

I think your problem is you have the sample set up on the same mute group as your drums. Check that. If not, then try laying down the drums on a separate track.

Either this or its the program thats set to mono.

iv tried setting the drums and the sample to different tracks but it still cuts off... and the program is set to poly. i cant even play the sample then put drums over it whether im recording or not the drums still cut off the sample

Put the drums on a different program and let us know if it works.
