This is my second post.

I just bought my MPC two days ago.

I am about to thoroughly read the Akai Pro Manual for their OS so I can learn all the basics on the company's OS.

I will most definitely get the JJ OS some time soon.

My questions are:

(1) Is learning the basics from the Akai OS beneficial if I am still gonna switch to the JJ OS in the near future?

(2) What version of the JJ OS is the easiest to use?

Thanks for the advice.

1. The basics of the Akai OS are that it's format routine causes data corruption, so no I wouldn't exactly call that beneficial, no.

2. Just start downloading and try them. They're probably more "different" than "easier to use" and it's really all down to what works for you.

I just got my MPC about a month ago.

My advice is to learn Akai's OS to the best of your ability and read the manual front to back.

After you gain a thorough understanding of Akai's OS, then switch over to JJ, it will be a piece of cake. Certain menus in the JJ OS are NOT in Akai's OS so it can get confusing it your following the manual.
