whats a good daw to use with the mpc 500

im using the daw as the master sequencer. recordidng the midi values to the daw (logic) then when i want to turn that to audio, i bounce it to protools but i bounce the whole thing at a time to protools (LE) instead of each track seperatley because then i would have to sync up the midi in one daw to the midi in the other so my beat wouldent be off sequence.

u lost me there a bit my man. y r u using 2 different programs for recording? y dont u record both audio n midi in logic? but check it, if i make a song sequencing using my mpc, but then i wanna transfer the audio to my daw, i change the settings in the mpc to slave mode n midi channel. so wen i hit play, it triggers the mpc sequence. therefore if on the daw on an audio, i hit record... itll trigger the mpc to play n record the song into audio on the daw. now... a slick thing to record it track to track seperately.... b4 u record the song on the daw, solo each track on the mpc using its mute/solo feature. there wen it plays and records.... its only one track.
thats wut i do wen i make a song separately alone on my mpc (portable baby!), then bring it back to my computer and daw, then audio recording each track separately like kick, snare, piano sample, etc etc onto the daw from the mpc. its real easy n quick. just make sure on the daw its the same tempo as the song on the mpc b4 u record.

I have LP8 and the 500, and I can't get the MPC to play through Logic. I have read both manuals and am stuck in deep. I am running the MPC through a Tascam US-144 USB audio interface using the MIDI cables. I really need help! Any info would be greatly appreciated.

well, ive had the mpc 500 now for about 8 months and i love it.
i carry it with me to band practice to record live drum sounds and i also do production work on it. When i get home I dump all my stuff from the mpc into pro tools.
Honestly, it couldn't be easier. Just set the grid mode in pro tools to the same tempo as your beat or whatever u have on the mpc. I record (in the case of a hip hop or downtempo beat) the seperate tracks from the mpc onto seperate tracks in Pro Tools, basically to isolate the same as you would if you were recording in a live band setting. So i usually make about 12 new tracks in Pro tools and then dump my seperate tracks from the mpc. So later on i can add plug ins (compressor, Eq, Delay) to each track in Pro tools and the sky's the limit.
In my opinion, Pro Tools is the easiest DAW to use with most anything. I don't understand why so many people say it's hard to use and give it a bad wrap. (it really is pretty easy) Granted, i've used it for 6 years now, but i find that there is nothing i can't do on it. Right now i am working with my brother on a movie and i am scoring and doing all the sound for it on Pro Tools (and MPC).
As far as beat making, there may be "better" programs for that purpose......But thats what i use the almighty MPC for anyways!! If you are looking for all around quality sound recording in a DAW i would reccomend Pro Tools.
