Start&Stop on MPC1K

I'm using my mpc to play loops live with my band. I have the footpedal to start and stop the loop. But if I stop the loop in the middle and then hit the pedal again, it starts right where it stopped. Is there a setting somewhere that will make it go to the top of the loop when you stop it with the pedal? The only solution I know of is to rig up two pedals. There must be an easier way to do this with one pedal.

Try to hit stop twice.

pretty sure you'll need two pedals.

unless you can use a hand to stop it, and assign the pedal to PLAY START,
not just PLAY.

you can buy double, non-latching pedals pretty cheaply though.
