i am currently using the trial version and i am having problems after i export my programs from the editor.

after i export my programs to cf card, i bring the card over to the mpc and some of my sounds are not there.. what gives?

each bank is missing over half the sounds.. im on os 1.20 and formatted on the mpc. all my sounds are less than 8 characters and are all wav files..

any idea whats going on?

Your problem is you formatted on the MPC. Fat on mpc and fat on computer are a little different. You messed up your mpc format when you placed the card on the computer.

Format the card on pc, use fat/fat16, use 8 or less characters in filename. You will be fine after that.... NOW, that card is transferrable. This is the same thing I and so many others have been preaching for years now, pc format, not mpc format...

MPC formatted media = non transferable card, you will end up the way you just did.....

Me, I'm on 2kxl os 1.14, I use 2 x 512mb cf's, have not used the mpc to format in years..... both my cards are pc formatted fat/fat16. I use the above rules I stated and I'm fine, not had any problems in years..

Can you partition on the PC and have your MPC read it?

can you load a beat into your mp from your mp formatted cf, then format pc, then resave the beat back to your pc formatted card? :P

shhts still not working man..

im having all kinds of problems with these MPCs...lol, for real..

when i make my programs from scratch in the MPC and go to save, turn off the MPC and turn it back on-- the shht somehow erases my programs. im constantly loosing my sequence and songs files too.. and this is with a CF card.

when i use the MPC Editor and export, it exports fine, but when i try to load up in the MPC--- lots of sounds are missing..

could it be the OS or something?

again, i have a VST card reader, i formatted on the PC, file characters are 8 or less and all my files are wav files..

what gives??!?!?

Maybe os, download another and reinstall.

Maybe the cf, clear, reformat the cf.

Try and start with everything clean and new. See if that helps.

What is the size of the cf?

1gb and over, os v1.20.

Partition the card in 1gb partitions if 2gb+.

Bear in mind that in order your pgm's to work, you need to host all the corresponding chops inside the same folder in the CF card.

Let's say you chop a sample on Recycle. Then save the AKP file inside the folder in the CF card and then import it on the MPC Editor. Save the pgm inside the same folder and hit NO at all when the Editor asks to overwrite the sounds.

You should have your pgm working now. But again, be carefull not to mess with the CF folder when you are on your PC cause then your MPC won't reload the pgm as the file names will have been changed again to XP format.

Messed up thing but when you figure it out you won't have a problem. Personally, if I didn't had MPC editor I'd probably have sold my 2kxl, lol!

hey lampdog...
do u partition on the PC or on the MPC?

i'm assuming that if u're gonna be going from PC to MPC back and forth, u should do all formatting and partitioning from the PC before going into the MPC right??

also....u said format to fat OF fat16?
r these 2 completely different types?
if so...which one is better?
u just right click the volume on windows explorer and hit "format" right?
or is there a different/better way to do this.

thanx for the continued help brotha
