midi buffer full

i have a simple drum pattern having the crap modulated out of it with Q link controls only - no CCs or other midi - but I am getting this midi buffer full message,

i guess i have too much modulating going on but the quetion is what to do about it? is there a way of thinning it?

just checking - you are on OS 1.71, right?

(The MIDI Out Buffer Fule message happened a lot in OS1.50 IIRC...)

yeah 1.71. On my current project I am really decimating the samples with this q-link data. The problem seems to be you only know when you went too far when is too late.... when you get this "what the f are you DOING buddy?!" midi buffer message, there no warning...

because the mod possibilties are so many I think some kind of midi data thinning would have been a nice option for the 4k sequencer - probably this NRPN type data which the q-links use can get a bit too much if I do a lot of really fast movements.

Data smoothing would be interesting option to have too - like a lag processor on an analogue modular, it could take the edges of q-link and CC data - you could set the timing and amount, even have separate settings for the the rise and fall, bit like an envelope
