if u just got it yeah

it has da old feel to da pads ( old as in da older mpcs)

da mpc 1000 used to come with 16 individual pads
now da new ones come with almost like one big sensor kinda thing

and it picks up sensitivity different

more responsive and predictable

I am now never going to buy a single new mpc or part from akai again...this companys name has been really tainted for me since Numark Industries or whatever company that owns numark, akai pro,and Alesis took over a few years ago.... It started with the whole pad upgrade thing and now the HDM-10....come on guys stop buying there shit too... go old skool and buy a mpc 2000 or a 2000XL with the old skool logo on it... I feel like selling or trading my 1000 for a old skool 2000xl!!!!!

It is like this in all tech industries...... The Hd kit is fairly inexpensive so it is not that big of a deal to me, but the pad thing is...... IF they were gonna do that they should have done a recall on the old pads...... Or at least made the pad upgrade fairly affordable...... But business is business....

With an extra 125 spent on mine, I am completely satisfied.... Mine is a BK model so it came with new pads, and I installed more RAM and also a 60gb hd....

This actually refers to an advertisment in SOS. I've been thinking of getting a new black MPC 1000, I emailed them regarding this - Its an offer they have (Thomman.de) - You can either get the HDM 10 kit bundled with the MPC, or the 128 MB Ram expansion.

So it's a deal from the seller - not from AKAI...

with most electronics the price gets cheaper as the years go by. MPC prices have always remained constant.

if this was a bundled deal from Akai I see nothing wrong with it, other than it's a kind of lame way to give the consumer a discount. Besides that though, it's a good thing.

This is completely different than the pad situation.

In the case of a free hard drive mount bracket, I don't see how anyone could possibly complain. Though it appears this is not Akai sanctioned so it's all irrelevant.
