hmmm, i will check out ebay i suppose....also i had a couple other questions, (i checked faq and didn't really find much on installation as far as the eb16 goes as well as memory)

so i guess my question is should i worry about seeking proffesional help with cracking open the mp and putting in the effects board and extra memory or is it fairly easy to do as a novice installer???....

one more question....i went to comp usa yesterday and the guy was tellin me all he could order is 32mb simms and you had to install them in pairs when it comes to a computer, is that the same on the mp or can you just install one simm without the pair?

thanks......nikeli

Yea you need the pair... The MPC has to have two 16 megabyte Simm Sticks.. 16 + 16 = 32... Got it. It works the same as a computer...

How much they charge you at Comp USA... I got my sh*t of eBay for 12 bucks.

"Yea you need the pair"

This is not true. You can use single chips in the MPC2k series.

MPC2000 can use single or double 4, 8, 16 meg.

MPC2000XL can use single or double 16 Meg (possibly 8 meg).

EB or memory is fairly easy to install.

The manual explains how options are installed and also the combinations of how you can use memory.........two 8's for 16 + 2 = 18mb or one 16 for a total of 18 mb or two 16''s for a total of 32mb or one stick of 32 for a total of 32

If you dont have the manual find any post of Tutors and click the link to download the manual

Man I don't want to be a hater or anything. But I was about to buy an Effects board myself a couple months ago.

I decided that cheaper external gear would get the job done better.

just sayin...lol

i find the effects very useful. but annoyed by the fact that produce desirable sounds distorion must be used. it is good for tuning ramdom slices into synth noises, using the filters and delay.

I was told to cop the MFC 42 instead of the EB16 and that with software you can get better effects....I'm still earning the MPC and the MFC and trying to figure the turntable set up with it, but I'll get it done and all.......do what you think you must or etc. I think I should of maybe just saved about 400 beans and just used the MFC........I'ma start doing my own thing

well, i bought my mpc with the eb16 already installed at a great price, so i learned it right away. I heard the MFC42 is the shyt though, and im very curious about its filtering capabilities.
