I have setup everything the way it should be. i looked thru forums for weeks. im at a dead end. i want the motif to playback simultaniously while i record drums seperate on mpc. im not actually recording into either one. i just want mpc to control playback of motif while im playin on the mpc. dats it. but it just want work no matter what i try. any ideas?

I need some barney style here cuz im just not gettin it. when i turn my motif es to midi i cant play anything bakk neither from my mpc nor my motif. pleeeease help. i got the newest jj os 1 so maybe there is a different way of doing it.

I don't have a motif but I use my mpc to fire other external devices. I use a midi cable to go out from my midi out A on the mpc, and plug that into the in of whatever device, like your motif. Then you have to do whatever you need to do with the motif to make sure it's receive midi on whatever midi channel your sending from the mpc, I think 1 is the default.

I don't know what mpc you're using, but I'm on a 2500, and on the main page I have to select which midi port my cable it hooked up to, in my case 1. Then just as a test make some midi pattern in the grid edit and see if you're getting any love.

yeah i finally got it to work. i had my midi in/out switched up
