seperating tracks in the studio

Alright, I am an ass, and on my older shit, I programmed everything on the 1st track, samples drums, everything. So, naturally the mix is shitty. I would like to know if there is any way to go to a studio and seperate everything, eq and compress etc, without me having to reprogram everything or copy all of the tracks and delete shit. Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.

heres an idea....copy the track umpteen times and start eliminating sounds bt deleting everyting but a snare..then do the same thing, eleiminating everything but drum and so on and so on..

You could get the 8 out board, then just assign the sounds to different individual outputs. Other than that, yeah you're gonna have to copy and delete, copy and delete, etc...

if you dont have the 8 outs board youre cool, it will just take you longer(much longer) to separate tracks. you dont have to copy/delete anything. you just have to play with the track mixer some what. for example. if you want to start by laying your kick and snare down, just turn all the other sounds down to zero on the stereo mixer except for the kick and snare, now assuming these are 2 mono sounds... pan one to the left and the other to the right. repeat this process until all your sounds are tracked. now if you have a stereo sound you can only do one at a time, just turn everything else down and lay that one sound. as long as you lock up with midi time code , clock or sympte you are all good.

Wanna Get Synced!
First Connect a MIDI OUT CABLE From your MPC to your PC's IN. Then SETUP your MPC to Transmit MTC and MMC(midi time code,midi machine control). this is in the MIDI setup section inside your MPC.Make sure the channel you ask your MPC to transmit the codes, such as A or B, corresponds to your Cable going to your PC.
NOW Slave Cool edit to MTC aka MIDI TIME CODE...By going to OPTIONS inside the Multi track view and scroll down to SMPTE SLAVE ENABLE...(oh! dont forget to make sure your midi setup inside cool edit is correct, suchas the right devices..goto Device Properties inside OPTIONS if you havent set up your MIDI ins and OUTS)...Once you've Selected SMPTE SLAVE ENABLE, a little text message will come out on the lower left hand corner reading "OPENED MIDI INPUT/SYNC"
........Hit Play on your MPC...It should Trigger CEP also to play and run in sync...
If all is set correct you can now Record your induvidual tracks into Cool Edit by Enableing Record on a track(in CEP) and Hiting PLay On your MPC...Then Mix Inside Cool Edit...

PS...I know it says "SMPTE SLAVE ENABLE" and your thinking "But im not transmitting SMPTE"...ahhh CEP will Convert SMPTE to MTC
