Is it possible that JJ could change the operating system of the MPC1000 to get it to be able to handle more memory (like 256MB)? I mean, with all his new features, it is eating up memory like crazy. I think with more memory, the 1000 would be a top of the line machine with JJ OS

This is a hardware limitation. It can't be done.

The code space was different. OS1 is loaded into the flash ROM.
JJ managed to allocate the 16mb RAM chip built in to the 1k for OS2 to load.

As for the limitations of the hardware reguarding the 128mb RAM expansion, the CPU is not capable of anything larger, from what I recall.
